OFWs' Fate.

A teacher asked, “Ano ang pangalan ng pinakamalakas na bagyo?” Reziel raised his hand and replied: “Tukso po.” The teacher asked then: “Bakit tukso?” Reziel , quoting a song, said: “Kasi po kay dami ng winasak na tahanan, kay dami ng matang pinaluha at kay dami ng pusong sinugatan.”
But the truth , the reason that causes enormous damage is not temptation (tukso) but sin. Temptation is an incitement  to do evil things; thus, it’s not a sin. Even Jesus during His time was tempted but He overcame the devil’s advances.
Isa sa mga problema ng pamilyang Pilipino among Filipino migrants is the long separation of married couples. For instance,  a husband working abroad,  can blink to the temptation of infidelity as a result of long separation. The spouse left behind can also fall to the same impasse. Moreover, working abroad was never meant to be easy, some Filipinas land in ordeals or sometimes on death row for drug cases, some suffer maltreatment and injustices from cruel employers. Some are also exposed to sexual harassment and rape. I wonder if the dollars earned abroad are worth it when one’s family is at pigsty. Hope them surmount the moral and family problems they’re encountering in their chasing for a better life.
However, many OFWs have sought  greener pastures abroad. Last week while eating in a certain fast food, I met kuya Dante and his wife  both working in a company in Pohang . Hearing them whispering;( Pilipino yan nuh?) wonted by nameplate and my face complexion. Kaya nilapitan ko sila. This two who may have met working within  and have fallen in love and then married in due course but I forgot to ask. Lol
