not yet a parent and reading this maybe unbelievable. If you are a mother or a tita, you can relate to this. Do you know why kids throwing tantrums? One reason is boredom. They don't know what to do when there is nothing to do. So they scream for no reason except the desire to be attended.

All their activities each day are just feed by parents. Their coloring books cannot be done unless told. They will not do counting trees outside unless there is a worksheet asking them to do. We forgot to teach our kids to win in nothingness.

Back when our days when we come up with our own activities like drawing shapes on the ground, skip and jumping in the meadows, play with pets, fly a kite, and many more. We knew how to deal with boredom based on what is available around us.

Perhaps today, children don't. We just give them gadgets and play on the screen all along. We never let them bored and let them think for their own to enhance creativity and curiousity. Staring on mobile games during nights until bed become their routine. These made them become less critical thinkers. They grow up with poor in analysis and logical understanding but good in reasoning.

I can remember before I was running going home following my breath. The reason? The trees were about to fall not knowing it were the clouds moving. I even wondered before how the moon borrows the light from the sun during night time. Why not the earth will borrow too? So it will be all day time.

Children learned best from experience and boredom is the great teacher. According to Palki that boredom is essential for emotional development, it helps strategise, improves problem solving skills, makes children creative, posters imagination, and instills a sense of independence.

I am not suggesting not to supervise them. Just give the right balance for them to think and daydream. Let them bored. It's not a torture. Kung muhilak, muhilom rana.
