"To travel is to discover that everyone is wrong about other countries". I have a positive view of the Korean people before I really knew what was going on. I thought South Korea was basically this nation full of activity and positive vibes. The pop culture was very appealing and the fast wifi and ubiquitous technology made it look like a dream place to be in. I really liked the place. But then, the important stuff started to come up. The high education standards, undying societal beliefs, so incredible. South Korea shows improved welfare but declining happiness. Happiness level is a reflection of factors such as satisfaction with quality of life, the total fertility rate, leisure time, and anticipated lifespan from birth.
It made me realize that South Korea is very good at hiding its problems behind its fast paced innovation and culture. I was dismayed at what was happening “behind the curtain” and really kind of started realizing that society is never perfect and sometimes you just cannot blame things like the rising cost of living, pagbaba ng presyo ng palay at iba pa .
Koreans are some of the most hardworking people I know and they are the reason why their country rose up after years of hardship into a developed country. Sana ganun na din tayo. Minimize criticisms kung matrapik, maraming weekend assignments, walang transwoman comfort rooms, pag-aROTC(pati nga artista sa kanila eh) instead work hard, baka pala aasenso din tayo. ( repost)
Indeed, We focused too much on other country which makes us unhappy in our own situation. Thanks for this!
